Gareth Jones
PSA IAPS-MC

Gareth is a native of North Wales and has emerged as an internationally acclaimed pastel artist in recent years. He now lives, and works from his studio, in Eryrys.

Art school trained and formerly a graphic designer, he switched to the world of fine art in 2010. His early works were painted in acrylics, but six years ago Gareth discovered the medium of soft pastel and in 2021 became an Associate Artist of Unison Colour, the world renowned manufacturer of soft pastels.

Later the same year, he was elected as a Signature Member of The Pastel Society of America and in 2024 achieved Master Circle status with the International Association of Pastel Societies. 

Winner of several international awards, he has exhibited at the Mall Galleries, London with both the Royal Society of Marine Artists and The Pastel Society.

Working now exclusively in soft pastel, he has become a passionate advocate of his chosen medium, demonstrating and teaching workshops across the UK and Europe.

His main inspiration is the sea and coastal fringes, but he is increasingly drawn to the landscapes of his homeland.
